Refund Policy – Loci Engineering Ltd.

At Loci Engineering Ltd., your satisfaction with our engineering and electronic components is important to us. We understand that sometimes a return or refund may be necessary. Please review our policy carefully to understand the conditions under which we accept returns and issue refunds.
1. Eligibility for Returns & Refunds
To be eligible for a return and potential refund or exchange, your item must meet the following criteria:
- Timeframe: You must initiate the return process within 7 calendar days of the date you received your order.
- Proof of Purchase: You must provide a valid order number or receipt from Loci Engineering Ltd.
- Condition of Item:
- The item must be unused, unaltered, and in the same condition that you received it.
- It must be in its original, sealed, and undamaged packaging (if applicable), including all original accessories, manuals, and any bundled components.
- For sensitive electronic components (e.g., Integrated Circuits, Microcontrollers, Sensors), the original anti-static packaging must be intact and unopened.
- Reason for Return:
- Defective or Damaged Item: If the item is found to be defective or damaged upon arrival.
- Wrong Item Shipped: If you received an item different from what you ordered.
- Change of Mind (Conditional): For unopened, unused items, returns due to a change of mind may be accepted under strict conditions (see Section 2).
2. Non-Returnable Items
Certain items are explicitly non-returnable due to their nature or if they show signs of use or alteration, including:
- Items that have been soldered, programmed, modified, or physically altered in any way.
- Items where the original sealed packaging (e.g., anti-static bags for ICs, blister packs) has been opened, broken, or tampered with.
- Items missing original parts, accessories, manuals, or packaging.
- Items with removed, damaged, or tampered serial numbers or unique identifiers.
- Consumable items (e.g., solder paste, chemicals) once their seals are broken or they show signs of use.
- Custom-ordered or specially fabricated items.
- Gift cards.
3. Return Process
To initiate a return, please follow these steps:
- Contact Us: Send an email to info@lociengineeringltd.co.ke within the eligible 7-day timeframe.
- Provide Details: In your email, include:
- Your Order Number.
- The specific item(s) you wish to return.
- The reason for the return (e.g., defective, wrong item, change of mind).
- Photographs or videos of the item (especially for defective, damaged, or wrong items) to help us assess the issue.
- Wait for Authorization: Our customer support team will review your request and provide you with a Return Authorization and detailed instructions on how to send back the item. Please do not send items back without prior authorization.
- Secure Packaging: Once authorized, carefully package the item(s) to prevent damage during transit. Include all original packaging, accessories, and a copy of your purchase receipt.
- Return Shipping:
- For defective, damaged, or wrong items, Loci Engineering Ltd. will provide instructions for return shipping or arrange for collection, and cover the associated shipping costs.
- For returns due to a change of mind, you will be responsible for arranging and covering the cost of return shipping. Ensure the item is tracked and insured as we cannot be responsible for items lost or damaged in return transit.

4. Inspection & Approval
Once we receive your returned item, it will undergo a thorough inspection.
- If the item is found to be in its original, unused, and undamaged condition (and meets all eligibility criteria), your refund or exchange will be approved.
- If the item does not meet the eligibility criteria (e.g., used, damaged, altered, missing parts/packaging), we reserve the right to deny the refund/exchange or apply a restocking fee (up to 20% of the item’s value) depending on the condition and circumstances. We will communicate our findings to you.
5. Refunds & Exchanges
- Refund Method: If approved, refunds will be processed to your original payment method (e.g., M-Pesa till payment reversal if technically feasible, or via bank transfer for the fastest processing).
- Refund Processing Time: Please allow 5-10 business days after the approval of your return for the refund to be processed and appear in your account. Processing times may vary depending on your bank or M-Pesa.
- Shipping Costs (Original Order): Original shipping costs are non-refundable, except in cases where the return is due to a defective, damaged, or incorrect item shipped by Loci Engineering Ltd.
- Exchanges: If you request an exchange for a defective or wrong item, we will ship the replacement item to you after inspecting the returned item.
